Emera Newfoundland & Labrador (ENL) is building and will own a 500 MW +/- 200kV HVDC transmission project between the island of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, including two 170 kilometre subsea cables and approximately 300 kilometres of overhead line on the island of Newfoundland and less than 50 kilometres of overhead line in Cape Breton.
ENL is currently seeking Expressions of Interests (EOI) from companies with interest in supplying periodic road grading, maintenance and snow clearing of a section of road between Millertown and Granite Canal, NL. The scope of work includes:
The successful proponent will be required to provide snow clearing services to ensure access is maintained between the turn off on the “Duck Pond Mine” road at approximately kilometre marker 13 to Granite Canal’s Bridge at approximately kilometre marker 82.6, during the winter period (November 16 – April 30).
Grading / road repair during non-winter period
During the summer period (May 1-November 15), grading would be required to ensure reasonable road conditions.
The intent of this activity is to identify companies interested in participating in this procurement process and to ensure the Request for Proposal reflects applicable input from potential service providers. Companies interested in participating in this procurement process are required to complete and submit the EOI questionnaire to ENL by 3 p.m. NDT on Wednesday December 3, 2014.
