Emera Newfoundland & Labrador (ENL) is building and will own a 500 MW +/- 200kV HVDC transmission project between the island of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, including two subsea cables, approximately 170 kilometres each, and approximately 300 kilometres of overhead line on the island of Newfoundland and less than 50 kilometres of overhead line in Cape Breton.
ENL is currently seeking Expressions of Interests (EOI) from companies with interest in providing a caribou monitoring study Phase II in Newfoundland & Labrador.
This study will complete the caribou Environmental Effects Monitoring Program for the Maritime Link Project in Newfoundland, and includes:
A review of existing literature and baseline data to inform study design;
Assessing caribou movement and migratory behaviour within the designated study areas (GPS collars and wildlife cameras); and
Evaluating the potential effects of the Project on these parameters.
The intent of this activity is to identify companies interested in participating in this procurement process. Companies interested in participating in this process are required to complete and submit the EOI questionnaire to ENL by 3 p.m. NST on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.
