Emera Newfoundland & Labrador (ENL) operates a 500 MW +/- 200kV HVDC transmission project between the island of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, including a 170-kilometre subsea cable and approximately 400 kilometers of overhead line predominantly on the island of Newfoundland.
ENL is currently seeking Expressions of Interests (EOI) from companies with extensive experience to provide remediation services along the DC transmission route. The scope of future services includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Remediation of approximately 140km of Right of Way (ROW) along the new DC Transmission Line in Newfoundland from Bottom Brook to Cape Ray including related access trails. Work includes but would not be limited to removal of culverts and water course crossings, mats, access trails and general shaping of ground profiles along ROW and access trails.
The intent of this activity is to identify companies interested in participating in this procurement process and to ensure the Request for Proposal reflects applicable input from potential service providers. Companies interested in participating in this procurement process are required to complete and submit the EOI questionnaire to ENL by 3 p.m. NST on March 23, 2018.
